This is another case where the client first hired another lawyer that knew nothing about dealing with criminal investigations and DYFS cases. While the client was not yet arrested, he was facing both a DYFS case and a criminal investigation for allegedly molesting his 5 year old daughter. It took quite some time but our Somerset County Sexual Assault Defense lawyers were able to make sure that the criminal investigation was closed without any charges being filed against the client. The DYFS case however, was another story. It took a long time to fight the DYFS case because they fought so hard against our attorneys. However, our defense attorneys know how to fight even hard. We filed a number of motions to cripple the DYFS case. In the end, our motion to dismiss the case was granted by the judge.
